Anoxomer (E323): What It Is and Is It Safe?

Limited risk Antioxidant

Anoxomer is a synthetic, high-molecular-weight polymeric antioxidant engineered so that its antioxidant groups are not absorbed from the gut. The US authorises it for fats and oils under 21 CFR 172.105, but it is not authorised as a food additive in the EU or GB. Its non-absorbable design is intended to limit systemic exposure to the antioxidant moieties.
