A mixture of synthetic azo dyes historically used to colour smoked fish (kippers) in the UK. Never approved EU-wide; was removed from authorised lists following safety reviews. May cause allergic reactions in people sensitive to azo dyes. Products manufactured when it was permitted may still appear in legacy databases.
